The Cuban-born artist duo Guerro De La Paz have created a series of sculptural art works out of discarded, recycled clothing. These figures are made from t-shirts, shoes, boots, socks and more, many of which have been dug out of secondhand stores in Little Haiti, Miami. The message Guerro De La Paz conveys with their recycled clothing art is about the consume-and-discard nature of our mass-produced lifestyles. Our habits of consumption put us so very far away from the creation of the items we use– and just as far away from the piles of trash they become.

IRead Faces, by Cristian Radu (in this photo Sabina Alexandra)

Given the following hypothesis:

One understand beauty so subjectively and so widely;

Studies show that parents are less likely to be annoyed by the bad things that beautiful children do;

It’s not what you look at, it’s what you see;

Within contemporary art, the concept of beauty changed its definition and criteria. Not only symmetry, but also non-symmetry is beautiful. Not only the rule, but also the alternative is beautiful;

I came to the following conclusion:

Beautiful people don’t actually exist. We create them for ourselves. It means one can live all the time among inspiration.

A ring as a sculpture which visualizes the love and connection...

A ring as a sculpture which visualizes the love and connection of the 2 lovers for eternity.

As of beauty, perhaps I’ve already stated, I strongly believe it is a very subjective matter.

While surfing the web, I stumbled upon these samples of that kind of beauty that, in my opinion, lives in creativity:

Iulian is a passionate Qi Gong instructor in the UHT system. He started his search for health, energy, wisdom and equilibrium more than 16 years ago. He teaches people how to stay healthy and energetic in chaotic environment and, how to thrive even in the most inhospitable social environment by transforming stress into vitality. He also practices Tai Chi. In other words Iulian Pavel brings Health Wealth and Longevity into your Life. If you live or visit Romania, you should attend his amazing classes.

Any great adventure whether it is personal, financial, romantic or spiritual starts with an idea. That’s what all the successful people say: “Take the idea that motivates you most and work on it.”

What are the tools that suit you best in this quest for achieving your dream?

We have a large range of tools in the personal development field. We can use motivational books, NLP, self-hypnosis, Emotional Intelligence, sessions with a coach and other. But is it all we can do?

My Taoist master was always saying: “When you do ‘a thing’ you’d better put your mind into it, put your heart into it, put your soul and your spirit into it.”

So, with the techniques named above you will use in your journey only the mind or only the heart – that is only one part or maximum two parts of your entire potential. Instead, you could work with your entire being. That is, you would have at least 5 to10 times more chances to succeed.

Why should this be a better path than any other?

Every current teaching that addresses only the power of the mind, or only the power of the heart ignores a basic truth. You are as strong as healthy your body is. Do you think you can move towards your dream with stones or holes in your shoes?

[You can, at a certain moment of your journey, make great sacrifices in order to see your idea becoming reality, but those sacrifices are possible only after you have hardened yourself during the journey, and so, when the time requires, your are prepared.]

To be willing to move the mountains is a great thing and you’ll need a strong mind and a strong heart to succeed. But let us not forget that the mind and the heart are located inside our body. And the ability to receive proper information from the surroundings, objects or humans, is directly related to the health of your body.

How far can you see, run or shoot, without a good pair of eyes or lungs? When you want to climb a mountain, besides a fit body you need sharp eyes in order to see where you put your feet and to admire the beautiful landscapes. You’ll also need good lungs in order to be able to provide your body with enough oxygen and to be able to shout out loud your happiness.

While these are the external benefits of a good health, let’s also have a look inside. We think with our brains. No matter the place where ideas and dreams start, the road for achieving our goals runs through our minds. I’m talking about the place where neurons join their synapses, altogether creating new paths and maps. We’ll use those new maps literally to achieve what we want. But what happens if our body’s chemistry is a little out of balance? Well, if we don’t get enough rest, (clean) food, (clean) air, (clean) water we’ll soon have large quantities of waste in our cells. And we won’t have enough nutrients to feed the cells of our brain. So the new synapses just won’t have enough energy, enough food to pursue the new paths that our brain will form. Not to mention that in a body full of acid toxins our cells will start to melt, that is we’ll loose neurons and other extremely important cells. Or, in a different perspective the chemical signals sent between different parts of the body will be lost.

So, if you are about to start the journey of turning your dream into reality you better be sure that you are also healthy. Just like the roman poet Juvenal said, almost 1900 years ago, in his Satire [X]: “Mens sana in corpore sano.”

Each of its keys corresponds to a letter or a number from the computer keyboard. So, I decided to play a poem on it. For fun.

Here’s the result. A little bit psychotic.

Then it occurred to me that the music I came up with resembles to the way Dada poems were made.

Victor Brauner - Le ver luisant, 1933

Dada, an avantgarde movement of the twentieth century, among others like Futurism, Constructivism, Integralism, Surrealism or Expressionism, denies all sense and reason. The word “dada” originates in French meaning ‘hobbyhorse’, a word selected at random from the dictionary.

Here’s the methodology of making a dadaist poem.

To make a dadaist poem by Tristan Tzara

Take a newspaper.
Take some scissors.
Choose from this paper an article the length you want to make your poem.
Cut out the article.
Next carefully cut out each of the words that make up this article and put them all in a bag.
Shake gently.
Next take out each cutting one after the other.
Copy conscientiously in the order in which they left the bag.
The poem will resemble you.
And there you are—an infinitely original author of charming sensibility, even though unappreciated by the vulgar herd.

Instead of conclusion: As beauty has no absolute definition or criteria, is it that it has to do with sensibility or with unreasonable affinity?

They made me think once again about beauty and war. Actually about how thin is the border between them.

These are signs of beauty and acceptance in Mursi tribe, Ethiopia.

This is what a woman has to endure in order to get to this kind of beauty. I call it declaring war to yourself.

This is what happened to me today.
I stumbled upon an image.

Then the following 10 things happened in the next 5 minutes:

1. I thought: “This image is eye-catching.”

2. I stared at the image for 5 seconds.

3. The first word that came to my mind when seeing it was “reverse”.

4. I asked myself: “What are the reversed things that seem interesting to me?”

5. My answer was: “Reverse thinking appeals to me.”

6. I googled for the concept of reverse thinking.

7. This is what I found.

8. I said to myself: “I want to experience this.”

9. I thought: “This is an idea that makes me happy” and I shared it on Trigwee.

10. I said to myself: “Now it’s safe. It won’t get lost among hundreds of ideas that cross my mind everyday. Even if I don’t practice reverse thinking right now, I will certainly stumble upon this idea every time I log in to Trigwee and I will end up doing it.”

My intention was to share a way in which I use Trigwee and how the image - idea philosophy is valuable to me. We are still figuring out what would people get out of using lists of visually represented ideas. So, you are welcome to share your thoughts. They would be extremely valuable to us.

It’s the question from the title.

I’ve got some interesting answers so far:

“It’s a way to communicate beyond spoken language, and the conscious mind.”

“A release.”

“Why does one dream? Art is a stimulant we all are able and ready to make, when we dream it is only easier than when we stare into a canvas, or a heap of steal or clay. It is a drug, an opiate for the masses to wake up and shake the disease of what ever it is they feel they are stuck to. It is an eye opener to the blinded and departed. I make art for you to experience something new and exciting, take what I have given you, and evolve the frequency to fit your desires… And so on, its an infinite thing with marvelous proportions.”

“This was a very complex question I must say! But I think the need to create is something that has always been a part of the human mind. For artists art is a way of expression, their voice in a sense. Why people consume art? Well, for some it might be just for the pure pleasure of looking at something beautiful or interesting. In cases of looking at older art, it might be to understand history better. Art is our most clear representation of older history, since written sources in many cases are sparse. But again, this question is very complex, and a multitude of answers can be given. Art is in many ways extremely subjective, and so is the answers possible.”

What is your opinion about this matter?

We have a dream: The dreams of the people from Silicon Valley to be accessible worldwide

dreamsfromthevalley:

We are Catalina, Octav and Vlad, founders of Trigwee.com, the social network where you build your dreams and meet dreamers like you.

We designed Trigwee having in mind a purpose - people to know the dreams of humanity. Silicon Valley is a special area for the future development of the humanity, considering the importance of technology in today’s economy. In the same time, this area is populated by highly creative and innovative people that make an important impact on our planet. That is why we chose to highlight their dreams with the help of this project. Knowing what they are dreaming about, anyone can get involved and contribute to the creation of a better world.

There is also a question to be answered by the results of this project. Is there a connection between a person’s, a community’s dreams and their economical development?

We are going to ask a couple of questions intended to explore the dreams of each person. We answered these questions ourselves, here they are:

What’s your dream? The dreams of the people from Silicon Valley to be accessible worldwide

What inspired you to dream it? A broader dream, that people know the dreams of humanity and also the huge impact that entrepreneurs, students, artists, investors, tech guys, teachers from silicon Valley generate in the world.

What’s the impact that you intend to achieve? If anyone will know what dreams of Silicon Valley are, anyone could get involved in order to contribute to the creation of a better, more interesting world. Also, as a result, we intend to publish a book with the same name and donate the generated revenue.

Who would you like to be involved in this dream? All extraordinary people from Silicon Valley area.
